Let's Give Thanks!

To celebrate Thanksgiving, we did lots of fun activities. Mrs. Burris came to do Ag in the Classroom and we talked about pumpkins. Did you know that Illinois grows more pumpkins than any other state? Miss Terwelp grew up in Morton, Illinois. Morton is the "Pumpkin Capital of the World"! That's because the Libby's factory is there and they can lots of pumpkin. We helped Mrs. Burris make no bake pumpkin pie. First you crumble graham crackers and put it in the bottom of a cup. Then you mix vanilla pudding, cinnamon, canned pumpkin and milk in a ziplock bag. You squish it up and squeeze it into the cups. Then you put Reddi-Whip on top. MMMM...it's good! We made turkeys with our hands. We made Pilgrim hats and Native American Indian headbands to wear for our feast. Last, we all sat down to share our feast and give thanks! What a great day!
