Easter/Baseball

For our Easter Egg Hunt, we had to find eggs numbered 1-10 and check them off as we found them. This was hard work! We also had Baseball Week in honor of Opening Day of Major League Baseball.

Dentist/Reading/Misc.

Well, it has been a while since my last post! Sorry! It has been a busy spring so far. The following slideshow has pictures from our visit to the dentist office. We learned how to take care of our teeth, we got to see x-rays, and we got to ride up and down on the chair. We also have third grade reading buddies who come to read with us three mornings a week! We love to listen to their stories! Mr. Earl, the physical therapist, came in and did some yoga moves with us. Max, the puppy, also came to visit. We put on a concert for the rest of the school entitled "Music Makes Me Sing". It sure was fun! There are also random pictures from around the classroom. Enjoy!

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!

Welcome to the Kindergarten Olympics 2010! We enjoyed studying the Olympics so much that we decided to hold our own Olympics for our class. Each afternoon, we prepared something for our Olympics. We made giant Olympic rings to put on our bulletin board. We painted torches and tie-died coffee filters to make the flame. Miss Terwelp built an Olympic torch to hold the Olympic flame. We even made laurel wreaths in our team colors, just like the original Olympians won in Ancient Greece. Each Kindergarten Olympian created their own international flag to represent them in the Opening Ceremonies. On Tuesday, we participated in the torch relay and the Opening Ceremonies. On Wednesday, we held our Olympic Games. We participated in individual, partner and team events. On Thursday, we held our medal ceremony where we each stepped up onto the podium and received a gold medal followed by the raising of the American flag and the playing of the Star Spangled Banner! The photographer from the newspaper came and took pictures of us receiving our medals! For our Closing Ceremony, we extinguished our Olympic flame. What a busy week we have had!

100th Day

Today, we celebrated the 100th day of Kindergarten. Each student brought in a collection of 100 items. We sorted the collection in to 10 groups of 10. We made "100" glasses to wear. Hope you like our pictures!

A Kindergarten Christmas

The holidays are busy for everyone and our class was no different. We studied many different holidays: Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Las Posadas. Our class also learned about the story of The Polar Express. After a week of Polar Express study, we finished by watching the movie and having hot chocolate and candy canes! Yum! Santa came to visit. We got to ask him lots of questions and we sang some carols with him too! Then we had a gift exchange during our Christmas party. It is so fun to give and receive gifts! We hope you had a safe and happy holiday as well!
